Join us on this 5 day trek to the lost Inca fortress of Choquequirao. Follow the Apurimac Canyon, hike trough seldom-visited remote wilderness in the shadow of awe-inspiring snow-capped mountains.

Built atop a mountain, high in the Andes, the lost city of Choquequirao is comparable only to Machu Picchu in its beauty, grandeur and architectural accomplishment. Choquequirao, or “cradle of gold” in Quechua, is located almost 1750m above the raging Apurimac River. Marvel at the ancient stone walls that protect the two-leveled palaces and temples. The systems of fountains, canals and aqueducts that fed the farming terraces are still intact. Miles away from the rest of the tourists, this is truly a spectacular hike. Supported by a fantastic crew of guides, porters and cooks, hike through the pages of history as you walk towards this ancient empire.

The Huayhuash Range is considered the Himalayas of the Americas. The Huayhuash trek is one of most spectacular mountain treks to be found. You get a chance to see Yerupaja and Siula Grande of “Touching the Void” fame. Massive ice faces rise straight out of the contrasting green of the Puna.
There are glacial lakes of many different colours, deep valleys, and high pastures around the range. On the way we might see condors soaring above our heads and in evening we can soak in some natural hot springs.
The Cordillera Huayhuash is only 30 Km. in length with more than six peaks over six thousand meters. This hike takes you over 8 passes over 4600 meters and through the most stunning mountain scenery in the world.
We highly recommend you to acclimatize at least two days to the altitude before starting the trek. Vamos Expeditions can help to arrange your travel from Lima to the trip starting point, your stay and acclimatization walks.

It is absolutely unnecessary for you to learn their scientific names because there are more than 3500 species distributed among 240 genera. But we definitely recommend remembering that almost 800 of them can be found nowhere else in the world since they grow on in Peru, some even at altitudes of 4500 masl (14760 fasl). Such wealth is explained by the amount of ecosystems existing in the country, a guarantee for the presence of hundreds of different forms, sizes and colors.

FISHING IN PERU
Just like a miracle

Peru holds the world’s record for fish diversity. Here, the sheer quantity of fish being spawned along the coast and in rivers and lakes of the Andes and the Amazon is mind boggling. There are three Amazonian species considered trophies in the world of fishing: the chambira or payara, the tucunare (peacock bass), and the dorado.
Due to its perfect coastal position between the cold Humboldt and the warm Nino currents, Peru is able to offer 700 different varieties of fish and 400 varieties of shellfish!
In the north, the beaches of Cabo Blanco and Mancora are famous sites for marlin fishing, where a world record breaking specimen weighted 1542 pounds was caught! There, beneath the waters, await even larger marlins for the intrepid to come along and be conquered.

FISHING TRIP IN NORTHERN PERU
The North coast of Peru is an excellent place to fish and to enjoy nature, beautiful beaches, great food and the year-round excellent weather. Join us on a personalized fishing trip with a small group of friends or family and enjoy an experience of a life-time in the same place as the famous writer Ernest Hemmingway did. We offer coastal trolling, deep fishing and bottom bait fishing.

This ancient path is mystical and unforgettable.
For many, a visit to the lost Incan city of Machu Picchu via the Inca Trail is the sweet cherry on the top of their Peruvian trip. The 33km (20.5mi) journey is walked by thousands every year, winding its way over three high Andean passes to the best-known archaeological site on the continent.
Soak up views of snowy mountain peaks, rural hamlets where llamas graze and cloud forests flush with orchids as you walk from one pre-Columbian ruin to the next. The awe-inspiring Machu Picchu, at the trails end, was never revealed to the Spaniards, remaining forgotten until the early 20th century.
